CAN YOU HELP!! I received this letter from Heidi Ramsay who is "Climbing Everest!!"

Dear Wendy
My name is Heidi Ramsay and I have taken over Tamsyn Bond's position of chair of the BPSA. They are rather large shoes to fill and I hope I am up to the job. I wondered if the Old Girls would like to support us in our big fundraising challenge this year which is climbing Everest albeit via the main stairs. The whole school will be involved from nursery to 6th form as we climb the stairs almost 2000 times in a day in order to scale the height of Everest. Each child will be given a sponsor form and information pack and we hope to have the whole school even teachers and admin staff participating in the challenge. We are aiming to raise £8,000 to go towards a large project possibly a new playground/basketball pitch other suggestions are coming thick and fast. We are looking outside the school for corporate funding and will be approaching parents with businesses to make a donation of sponsorship in return for advertising. We are trying to combine as much education into the day as possible and have the support of the library for websites, The Harbour Bookshop in St Ives for books and a donation of 20% of sales on the day. We are hoping to have cardiac monitoring in the form of blood pressure and heart rate monitoring from cardio specialists from Mounts Bay Gym in Newlyn. My own pharmacy in St Just is aiming to attract £500 in sponsorship from our wholesalers. We hope to have the support of Culdrose in the form of personnel and equipment as well as sponsorship if we can swing it. We hope to make the local tv news as well as the cornishman etc. We are dedicating the challenge to Sir Edmond Hillary in honour of his life achievements. As you can see there is a lot of positive feedback and excitement regarding the challenge. I hope I have whetted your appetite enough for you to approach the alumni for both ideas and where possible hard cash! We are also looking for a well known figure/celebrity who may have connections to Everest for a photo call and support if you have any ideas.
Kindest Regards
Heidi Ramsay.

2007 AGM

We again had a wonderful luncheon at the school and enjoyed looking around the School and the grounds. The weather was a perfect Autumn afternoon.

Mr Dobson addressed the meeting and said the school has now grown to 360 pupils and there is a waiting list for some years. The results again have been exceptional and the pupils are encouraged to expand their horizons "risk without fear".

THE BOLITHO SCHOOL

These photos have come to light of the grounds and we thought you would find them interesting. Before the building was used as a School it was the Riviera Palace Hotel and these are postcards sent from the Riviera Palace Hotel. The first photos shows the steps in front of the building that are still there today but I am afraid most of the grounds are now sold off for building. This was a postcard dated 10 September 1907. We are not sure where the palm trees were situated.
